Hotels in kasauli | Resorts in kasauli

When Shahrukh Khan sang “Ek Haseen nigah ka dil pe saaya hai” for his Maya Memsaab at Lower Mall of Kasauli, the camera transcended old rustic charm of this quaint little Hill Station “Kasauli”. Being a local of Kasauli, as I reminisce, nothing much has changed since then about the beauty of this place. Being the Cantonment area it has remained untouched by the bane of urbanization and concretization. Abutting Delhi and Chandigarh, Kasauli is fast becoming the hub of tourist destination, a place preferred even over Shimla, which the tourists find to be over-crowded and highly urbanized.

Be it chestnut trees on the military grounds or the rustic old heritage market, or the roof top chimneys over the Houses or the cobbled passage ways, they all combine to give Kasauli its Rustic, Old world, English Charm.

A walk on the upper mall, or stamping along the jungle trails to reach sun-set point, is just as refreshing and energizing owing to lush greenery within the city limits and mild chill offered by the pine, oak and horse chestnut trees along the pathway fill the lungs with pure oxygen, a rare commodity (really a commodity) now a days. The "Sunset point" is my personal favorite spot since childhood. This point overlooks Chandigarh City and nearby plains and you can also catch a gleaming Sukna Lake from here, especially after a recent rain shower. The view of sun setting beyond the plains is worth the wait.
A day can easily be spent walking around the upper and lower mall or visiting the Hanuman temple at monkey point. Another day can be spent at the resort/hotel  itself leisurely listening to the chirping birds and enjoying cool breeze sitting in the balcony. For those who want to explore more can plan a trip to nearby hill station Chail. A visit to the Kali temple near Chail is worth the detour.
The tourist influx at Kasauli is increasing by the day and the only down side these days is finding a decent hotel to stay and which may turn into a nightmare on weekends and during summers when the number of tourists increase.
While there are a few heritage hotels in Kasauli ,most of the other hotels and resorts in kasauli are outside the main town.
